Drug-Free Back Pain & Neck Pain Relief for Lithonia/Stonecrest, Stone Mountain, Conyers, Decatur, and Atlanta, GA patients

If you are suffering from back pain or neck pain after an injury, chiropractic modalities and physiotherapy can help manage your pain and support the injury rehabilitation process. Our chiropractic wellness team integrates a variety of effective chiropractic modalities with chiropractic adjustments. These treatment options include cryotherapy, mechanical traction, electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), and therapeutic ultrasound.

bullet Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy uses heat, ice or Biofreeze to relieve pain and swelling after an injury. Long popular with professional athletes, our chiropractic team is excited to offer this important therapy to patients right here in the greater Atlanta metro area. Even if you are not healing from a major injury, if you regularly participate in athletic activities or are training for a major sporting event, cryotherapy may be a beneficial part of your training program for reduced muscloskeletal pain. Additional cryotherapy benefits include relief from back pain, neck pain and muscle pain.

bullet Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is the administration of an electrical current/impulse at the site of soft tissue injury, especially muscles, for the blocking of pain. Also known as e-stim or TENS, electrical muscle stimulation is beneficial for pain relief and muscle re-education. During a treatment session, wires from the EMS machine are connected to adhesive patches that are placed on the skin by the injury or pain location. Electrical current is then sent from the machine to the patches. Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) causes the contraction and relaxation of the muscles that increase blood follow to the injured region. Increased blood flow brings nutrient-rich blood to the area, flushing out toxins and supporting the body's natural healing process.

bullet Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is a method of stimulating tissue beneath the skin's surface using sound waves to create deep heat. Widely used in the treatment of soft tissue injuries and sports injuries, ultraound helps to minimize inflammation whie supporting the body's natural healing processes. Ultrasounic waves are sound waves of a high frequency that are not audible to the human ear. An ultrasound machine produces these waves via mechanical vibration. The machine's treatment head is moved over the surface of the skin, transmitting vibrations to the surrounding tissues. This increased vibration increases the production of heat within the surrounding soft tissues, including injured ligaments, muscles and tendons. Increased heat helps to accelerate the body's natural healing process by reducing inflammation and stimulating the production of collagen, a main component in soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments.

bullet Mechanical Traction

Mechanical traction introduces passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints, increasing mobility and delivering nutrients to the discs. Mechanical traction is beneficial for back pain and neck pain management and is a natural complement to chiropractic adjustments.
